Batko Stamenov, a student in communist-era Bulgaria whose entire life has been built on deception, creates his own ring of spies in this satirical black comedy. After being dismissed from the government’s espionage agency, Batko enlists the same radical student group he had infiltrated to become his own web of informants. Soon thereafter the group turns on itself, then on the government, and then on Batko. By film’s end the line between victim and villain becomes impossibly blurred.

On a hot, sticky Friday amid the city’s tangled streets, Victor receives a request to deliver 7 boxes in exchange for $100 -- it is too good an opportunity to pass up. But this seemingly easy job soon gets very complicated. Something in this cargo is highly coveted, and Victor quickly finds himself boxed in.

In Karachi, Pakistan, we meet the sweet, but downtrodden youth Omar, a runaway struggling to find his place in an economically ravaged city. Omar and his many friends at his orphanage voluntarily ran away from abusive family situations. However, we quickly learn that, for many of these orphans, their desire to reunite with their family proves too strong, paving the way for an extremely heartbreaking return.

Director Tinatin Gurchiani decided to make a documentary about her home country, Georgia, so she put out an ad for young Georgians to submit their stories. Gurchiani documents all types of tales from all regions of the country – a girl looking for the mother who abandoned her, a governor raked with indecision, a boy looking to free his brother from jail. The Machine Which Makes Everything Disappear, buoyed by the kind-hearted Georgians inhabiting the frame, showcases a diverse cross-section of this poor European state.
