Synopsis

Part road movie, part reluctant buddy comedy, with eccentric characters and the basest of base humor, The Overbrook Brothers is roughly what Dumb and Dumber would have been if either Peter or Bobby Farrelly could write. Jason and Todd are brothers who have been at odds since childhood and are now complete opposites as adults. At a family Christmas the two let a petty disagreement develop into a full on fight, culminating in Todd’s revelation that Jason is adopted. What seems like a childish taunt turns out to be true, but not only for Jason, as Todd, too appears to have different birth parents. The journey now begins with Todd and Jason battling all the way to Texas on a comedy of errors including flatulence, bizarre challenges, and a venomous snake with a taste for the private parts. The characters have a depth not found in the typical films of this ilk, and it lends a pleasing depth to the action and story that makes laughing at these two fools’ pain somehow more rewarding.
