Director and Photographer Gabriel Figueroa Flores and Screenwriter Margarita Mansilla Present!

Considered the greatest Mexican painter of the 20th century, and known for his enormous frescos capturing moments in Mexico’s history, Diego Rivera (1886-1957) began this documentary in collaboration with Mexico’s renowned cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa and world famous photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo. Completed by Rivera’s grandson Diego Rivera Lopez and Figueroa’s son Gabriel Figueroa Flores, the film was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Rivera’s death, and to illustrate the socio-political impact of Rivera’s work during the latter days of Mexico’s Revolutionary War.

Considerado el mejor pintor mexicano del siglo XX y famoso por sus enormes frescos que capturaron momentos históricos de México, Diego Rivera empezó este documental en colaboración con el más renombrado cineasta de México, Gabriel Figueroa, y el mundialmente famoso fotógrafo Manuel Álvarez Bravo. Terminada por el nieto de Rivera, Diego Rivera López, y el hijo de Figueroa, Gabriel Figueroa Flores, la película se presentó durante la conmemoración del 50° aniversario de la muerte de Rivera e ilustra el impacto socio-político del trabajo de Rivera al final de la Guerra Civil mexicana.
