One of the finest independent Hong Kong films in recent years, this visually stunning ensemble drama brings the vibrant beauty of past and present Hong Kong to life.

Alternating between the late 1930’s and today, Merry-Go-Round tells the story of four individuals across two generations and two continents.  It is about immigration and emigration. Eva (played by ‘70’s kung fu star Nora Miao) is a traditional Chinese herbalist in San Francisco, and Nam is a restless young soul looking for herself.  Making a trip to Hong Kong to take care of unfinished business, both women find new places to exist.

The film deftly weaves the characters together in a story of criss-crossing lives and ill-fated romances. Merry-Go-Round solidifies rising star directors Clement Cheng (Gallants) and Yan Yan Mak, as two to watch for future projects.
