Director Kiersten Dunbar Chace & Actress Lesley-Ann Brandt Present

I'm Not Black, I'm Coloured reveals how people of mixed race heritage in South Africa are trapped in an endless cycle of invisibility and exclusion. The film also explores how genetic DNA testing to learn one's ancestry can free the psychological shackles produced by colonization.

For 16 years Kiersten Dunbar Chace served as a community activist in the coloured townships of Cape Town. This experience motivated her to produce and direct a film about a marginalized people overlooked in a country still stratifying its soul with racial identity. Kiersten lives in Minneapolis and this is her first feature film.
