In this prize-winning documentary about one mother's attempt to feed her family from a world away, the Barrientos family struggles to make ends meet in their poor Peruvian neighborhood, as matriarch Nati, 55, reluctantly leaves her husband and three sons behind to find work in Spain. Taking a job as a maid, Nati attempts to generate income to send back to her family in the hopes of a better life for her children, which puts to the test their unrequited love.

Due in part to their dedication to the Barrientos, a family the filmmakers Alberty Herskovits and Mikael Wistöm have been in close contact with since 1974, they are awarded extremely personal access to each family member in this deeply personal and poignant documentary about the burdens one impoverished family is willing to endure.

Winner of Best Documentary at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the Bratislava International Film Festival, and Best Swedish Documentary at the Göteborg International Film Festival.
