From Oscar-nominated Dominique Monféry, this English language version of Eleanor’s Secret is a colorful and imaginative animated feature in which a boy learning to read saves the day.
Nat’s family inherits eccentric Aunt Eleanor’s charming but dilapidated house by the sea. The seven year-old boy is bequeathed a beautiful old library filled with books his Aunt used to read to him. A huge fan of the stories, Nat struggles to read the words on the pages. After the collection is sold so his family can have more resources to cope with the crumbling house, Nat discovers that the rare books were not merely valuable--they were the actual first editions, and enchanted ones at that! Put under a spell, Nat meets the original fairytale characters come to life--Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, an Ogre, and others from the canon of children’s literature. All will soon disappear unless Nat can help them return to Eleanor’s library and learn to read an ancient incantation in time to save his beloved literary friends for prosperity.
