The surprisingly venerable spy spoof genre gets a welcome new addition with this retro-hip French satire, winner of four César Awards.

Semi-suave star Jean Dujardin earned international kudos for his comic take on OSS 117, the French superspy whose long-running adventures actually predate 007. This installment finds the arrogant agent going undercover at an Egyptian poultry company to investigate the murder of a fellow spy.  Blessed with the literal dumb luck of his kinsman Maxwell Smart, 117 follows his upturned nose through a comic romp that claimed the Grand Prize at both the Tokyo and Seattle International Film Festivals. “Sparkling production design, a jubilantly retro score… in the same conceptual ballpark as Austin Powers or “The Naked Gun” series.” — Variety
