Life is like a moon’s reflection on the water, comments Lehmuskallio in presenting this anthology of his works. |
Markku Lehmuskallio’s film is a metaphoric summary of a lifetime of filmmaking above the Arctic Circle. Lehmuskallio, 70, a former forest technician, has worked for the last 40 years with filmmaker Anastasia Lapsui, a radio journalist, born in Siberia, and specialist in the indigenous languages of the Lapp Sami/Siberian cultures bordering Finnish and Russian Arctic. Travelling has been described by many as a masterpiece among his dozen films from the region.
