Here former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristides allegedly armed and controlled a secret army, called the Chimeres, or ghosts. Ghosts of CitéSoleil, is an insight into the minds of two brothers, gang leaders of the Chimeres, Billy and 2Pac. In 2004, Asger Leth, was allowed to document their lives in the pivotal and dangerous last months before the overthrow of President Aristides rule where allegiances constantly shift: between 2Pac and Billy, gang leaders and politicians, and Aristide and the rebels. The story, captured amid frequent death threats, portrays an intimate portrait of the daily accounts of life in Haiti, the bonds of family, and the horrors of violence.
