Director: Carlos Benpar A follow-up to Filmmakers Against Tycoons, this film is a testimony to the manipulation and mutilation of films and to the producers battling to maintaining the integrity and respect of their works. |
It opens with a surprising statement by Salvador Dali, which leads into a sequence of filmmakers defending their moral rights including Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen. From trials in Paris that defend John Huston’s motive to release the colored version of The Asphalt Jungle, to a case in Copenhagen where the original scope format of a Sydney Pollack film was manipulated for television, the various ways in which films are altered are brought to light. Cast: Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Jules Dassin, Arthur Penn, Thomas Vinterberg, Bernardo Bertolucci and many other Famous filmmakers.
In Spanish with English subtitles, Spain, 107 minutes, 2005, 35mm.
